Resetting your password
Updated over a week ago

Whether you are changing your passwords intentionally or you’ve managed to lock yourself out, there are two main ways you can reset your Noted password. It is important to remember which method of logging in you use - whether it be Noted IDs (using your email address) or legacy login (using usernames)

Resetting username passwords

Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive, entering them incorrectly multiple times will result in being locked out of your Noted account. To reset your account, follow the steps below:

  1. From the Noted username login page, click Forgot password

  2. Enter your username (not your email address)

  3. A password reset link will be emailed to you. Follow the steps to enter a new password and get back into your account

  4. Tip: If your reset email isn’t appearing in your inbox, check your junk or spam folders

Note: Usernames are case-sensitive, ensure you are entering the correct upper and lower case letters and in some cases, symbols. If you have forgotten your username please get in contact via the help chat or contact support@noted.com

Resetting Noted ID passwords

  1. To reset a Noted ID password use the Forgot Password button from the Noted ID login screen and enter your email address.

Changing your password

Another way to reset your password is to do so while you are already logged into your account. To do this:

  1. Click on your name in the top-right corner of Noted

  2. At the bottom of the page, there is an “Update Password” section

  3. Enter your current password and you will then be prompted to enter a new password

  4. Select “Save user settings” once finished

NOTE: Changing your password from inside only works for username login and not for Noted IDs

Administration

If you are an administrator on your account you will be able to reset the password for any user within your organisation. This is useful in the instance that someone finds themselves locked out of their account after having forgotten a password etc.

To reset another user's password:

  1. Use the switcher to navigate to the administration

  2. Click into the name of the user who requires a password change

  3. Select Change password from the menu on the left

  4. Update the user with a strong new password

NOTE: they will be prompted to update their password when they next log in with the password you have entered.

NOTE: Changing password as an admin only works for username login and NOT for Noted IDs
